The right to trial by jury' is one of America's most treasured constitutional guarantees.  As a trial lawyer, I have great respect for our trial process and the manner in which legal disputes can be resolved in an orderly fashion.  Being able to help people find real solutions to their legal problems is something I find very rewarding.  At Ohnstad Twichell, P.C., we have the opportunity to help our clients resolve their legal problems and move forward with their lives.

Voted 2007 Great Plains Super Lawyer!!

Robert G. Hoy graduated with honors from Michigan Technological University in 1975 with a B.S. degree in Business Administration.  He attended the Claude W. Pettit School of Law at Ohio Northern University for a year before transferring to the University of North Dakota School of Law.  At UND, he served as Business Manager of the North Dakota Law Review and was a participant on the Moot Court team before receiving his Juris Doctorate in 1978.

Following law school, Bob served as an Assistant State's Attorney for three years before being appointed in 1981 as Cass County State's Attorney in Fargo, North Dakota.  He was then elected to the office in 1982 and re-elected in 1986.

Leaving public service, Bob joined the Ohnstad Twichell law firm in 1991 and practices as a trial lawyer from the West Fargo office.  He handles lawsuits of all kinds, with an emphasis on personal injury cases, business and construction disputes, and the defense of serious criminal cases.  He is licensed to practice in all state and federal courts in both North Dakota and Minnesota.

Bob and his wife, Sandy, live in the countryside near Harwood, North Dakota, with their three children.  He enjoys outdoor and school activities with his family, and, when time permits, making sawdust in his workshop.
